ABIT IC7-MAX3 Wins PC.Com's Choice Award

Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., November 12, 2003 - ABIT's MAX Series continues to impress the hardware community with its dizzying array of features, and performance that puts other motherboards to shame. PC.com Malaysia's Adrian Tung had a chance to take the new IC7-MAX3 motherboard for a spin, and liked it so much, awarded it with the magazine's Choice Award.

ABIT's exclusive OTES cooling system was one of the first things noted on the IC7-MAX3: "If you're currently shopping for a new motherboard then ABIT's new Intel® Pentium™ 4 motherboard may catch your fancy...The board itself has quite a number of interesting features. The most noticeable part is the additional cooling fan which aims to provide better sooling and airflow to the capacitors and circuitry right next to the CPU socket."

Good cooling is a definite advantage, but only when it backs good stability. How did the IC7-MAX3 fare? "Stability and ease of installation are both excellent. We never ran into any glitches or hiccups during our tests, which include the installation of applications, running of benchmarks and a bit of gaming too."

The verdict? "Overall we're quite impressed with this board. It has a formidable set of features right out of the box, and doesn't require much tweaking in order to get up and running at optimal performance."
